Flash Nonfiction: Generative Class

Flash nonfiction is the art of telling true stories from one’s life with power and brevity (1,000 words or less). During this online generative class, participants will look at examples of expertly crafted flash nonfiction narratives and explore what makes them effective. They’ll learn how to make their personal stories connect with readers by using theme & plot, compression & layering, and images & lyricism. They’ll learn what editors look for when selecting flash nonfiction pieces for publication. Participants will write a flash nonfiction draft during the workshop.

Cost

  • $20 for webinar only. 
  • $40 for webinar + critique. (If you choose this option, after the webinar, you may submit a flash nonfiction piece of up to 750 words for detailed critique.)
