Micro Memoirs: Generative Workshop

Micro memoirs (also known as flash creative nonfiction) are the art of telling true stories from one’s life with power and brevity. During this online generative workshop, participants will look at examples of evocative micro memoirs and explore what makes them effective. They’ll learn how to create a lasting emotional impact on readers with just a few words by using precise sensory details, poetic devices, and metaphor. Participants will write drafts of micro memoirs of several different lengths during the workshop including a 100-word micro, a 250-word micro, and a 500-word micro.

Cost

  • $20 for webinar only. 
  • $40 for webinar + critique. (If you choose this option, after the webinar, you may submit 1-3 micro memoirs, total of up to 750 words for detailed critique.)
