Prose Poems: Generative Workshop

Prose poems are a fascinating and fun form for poets and prose writers alike. During this live online workshop, Bethany Jarmul will lead participants to explore what a prose poem is and what it isn’t, the different types of prose poems and what makes a great prose poem. During the workshop, participants will analyze examples and write their own drafts based on thought-provoking writing prompts. You’ll leave this workshop with a new appreciation for prose poems, fuel for your writing inspiration, and several new drafts of your own.

  • Various types of prose poems.
  • How to let go creatively and allow your subconscious to “speak” when writing.
  • Tips for writing engaging prose poems that lit mag editors and readers will love.

Cost

  • $40 for webinar + critique. (If you choose this option, after the webinar, you may submit 1-3 prose poems, total of up to 750 words for detailed critique.)

Bethany Jarmul is an Appalachian writer and poet.
